Pegasus Tracking System Review

/// 3 Directories + 3 Stories

A series of test footage that was designed for test but yet we wanted to entertain you as well.

This time round we tested the Cinevate’s Pegasus Tracking System on a Nikon D90 with a Zeiss 50mm Lens.

Pro:
1. The tracking movement was simply smooth and it was great with a DSLR Video Camera on it..
2. Adjustable positioning.
3. If you own a Rail System from Cinevate. You just got to buy it’s Pegasus Kit and you are ready to add some dynamic movements to your footage.

Cons:
1. It is no Heavy lifter thus side tracks are much difficult on a HVX200 with a 35mm Adapter. Still works alright when tracking forward instead of doing side tracks.
2. Though the position of the camera is adjustable with the Proteus but it is limited compared to a fluid head that can add on additional movements .

//Conclusion
The Pegasus is a great tool for Cinematographers & Film-makers who needs a dolly shoot of a short distance especially if you are using a DSLR or Camera without a depth of field adapter. A great add on to the collection of Cinevate gears if you are already a Cinevate user such as the DSLR & 35mm Adapter Rail System .
